Martin Küstner, Managing Director at Agr Bangkok, and Hans-Peter Müller, CEO of Heye International, will speak at the Glassman Asia conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
Mr Küstner will discuss ‘the path to optimal glass bottle manufacturing through automation and digitalisation’.
Agr International has seen an evolution in solutions from mechanic to electric, then to electronic and computer controlled.
However, the common denominator was always the need for the operator to set-up the machines according to the requirements, as well as the tested glass bottle or jar.
With faster processing power and algorithms, Agr was able to change the old way of measurement set-up to an automatic solution.
This also assisted with sustainability goals, as well as analysing and optimising the design of the container.
The presentation will feature approaches on product sustainability through lightweighting, as well as process sustainability through at the line monitoring, and the generation of actionable data as a base for Industry 4.0 and AI.
Examples will include financial gains as well as a CO2 reduction through lightweighting, and a reduction of carbon footprint due to the generation of fast actionable data.
Meanwhile, Mr Müller’s talk will focus on the basis for a highly efficient glass plant.
This will include how reliable and high performing machines are essential to remain competitive in the glass industry.
The Glassman Asia trade show and conference will take place at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) on February 12 and 13.
