Asl Ojna, based in Uzbekistan, is to build its second glass furnace.
The project is scheduled to begin in 2014, and be completed by 2016. The US$12.5m project will enable the plant to produce an additional 80 million standard units of glass per year.
One of the leading manufacturers of glass in Central Asia, Asl Ojna started operations in October 2009 with an investment cost of €22m.
The supplier of industrial equipment was Germany's Heye International. The business can currently produce 150 tons of glass per day and 126 million units of finished products per year.
JSC ‘Asl Ojna’ produces glass containers of various colourless and coloured shades.
