Czech manufacturer Vetropack Moravia Glass has invested in the reconstruction of its 52 furnace at its Kyjov plant.
The project included both the drainage of the old furnace and the demolition and gutting of its entire surface. This was followed by the complete reconstruction of the furnace, using 4000 tons of refractory and 600 tons of steel.
The glassmaker commissioned Horn Glass Industries of Germany to supply the complete gas heating equipment for the furnace and forehearth, as well as the regenerators, three HVR 500 batch chargers, glass level control equipment and additional boosting equipment for the throat, the barrier and the furnace.
The project was completed in 97 days, including foundations and construction work.
