Guardian Glass is now producing jumbo coated glass in North America.

The company recently completed all testing on its jumbo coater in Carleton, Michigan and started coating its float glass with Guardian SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 HT coating.

This jumbo coater is Guardian’s 12th globally and the company’s first in North America.

“We’re pleased to announce that the first project that will feature glass from the new jumbo coater is One Campus Martius, in Detroit, just miles from Guardian’s plant in Carleton, Michigan,” said Rick Zoulek, vice president – Americas, Guardian Glass.

One Campus Martius will use about 80,000ft2 of SunGuard SuperNeutral 68 HT coating on 8mm clear jumbo glass with units up to 180” high, both flat and curved.

The project is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.

Guardian Glass’ growth is helping customers while also helping to contribute to Detroit’s momentum: The Campus Martius project will add more than 300,000ft2 of critically needed office space in the city.
