Container glass manufacturer Saverglass has celebrated the first anniversary of the opening of its North American plant.

Saverglass Group invested $120 million for the construction of its glass manufacturing and decoration plant, where production started in June 2018 and created 410 local jobs.

The facility near Guadalajara, Mexico has produced 75 million bottles over the first year and will reach a production of more than 120 million bottles per year, boosting overall annual production to 720 million bottles over time.

“It has been a phenomenal year of expansion for Saverglass on multiple fronts, from customer, partner and employee growth to massive strides in product innovations, as the market for premiumisation is rapidly changing,” said Régis Maillet, Marketing Director for Saverglass Group.

“We’re committed more than ever to growing the premium wine and spirit market in North America, empowering distillers and wineries to have bottles manufactured and decorated that reflect their brand, and bring them to market faster.”

Saverglass specialises in the production and decoration of luxury and high-end glass bottles for the wine and spirits industry.

Régis Maillet added: “Our decision to have feet on the ground in the Americas has resulted in impressive business growth and positive client feedback. As we hit the mid-year mark in 2019, we’re excited to continue the momentum and to work closely with fantastic brands of all sizes.”

Milestones within the past year include:

*After a year of operation, Saverglass has run 5 colour campaigns operated from a single furnace.

*The facility offers clients a modern and multi-process glass manufacturing and decoration bottle service (ink screen printing, coating and hot stamping have started and acid-etching will be ready in the next few weeks), all under one roof.

*The facility is capable of not only producing glass bottles made of extra flint glass for superior clarity and brilliance but antique green coloured glass as well.
