Pharmacutical glass manufacturer Gerresheimer posted a rise in revenue in the second quarter of 2016.

It boosted revenues by 4.0% to €370.5m in the second quarter of financial year 2016 (March 1 to May 31, 2016).

Its Primary Packaging Glass Division generated revenues of €154.3 million in the second quarter, down by 7.5% from the same period of the prior year.

On an organic basis the company recorded a 3.6% increase in revenue growth in quarter 2, 2016 and 4.6% for the first half of 2016.

This reflected healthy growth in the tubular glass converting segment in the USA, and in the moulded glass segment.

It continues to anticipate group revenues of around €1.5bn for financial 2016.

This corresponds to revenue growth of some 9% at constant exchange rates compared with revenues in financial year 2015, and organic revenue growth of between 4% and 5%.
