Verallia has invested €22 million in a new furnace at its Oiry site in France.

Work is currently being undertaken to dismantle the current 515 tonnes per day furnace which will be replaced later this month.

More than 350 workers will work on site with production of the first bottle from the kiln expected to begin in early October.

The current 100m2 furnace has been in place for 12 years operating at 1200 degrees celsius for 24 hours a day.
