Some years ago Glenfiddich launched its 38-year-old Glenfiddich whisky in mouth blown crystal decanters.

The decanters had been manually finished by sandblasting, hand painted gold decoration and each bottle had a limited batch number.

In the middle of 2013 Stölzle Glass Group conducted an presentation at William Grants’ operational facility. This resulted in the award of the 38-year-old Glenfiddich project and forms part of STO group’s strategy into the ‘Luxury‘ Prestige Spirits decanters market.

The development and production of the sophisticated iconic triangular decanter took place at the Stölzle’s UK production site, Stölzle Flaconnage Ltd.

It was a challenge to manufacture the whisky decanter fully automatically, and decorate it in several steps: The heavy-based bottle is hand cut and manually polished before the application of the gold painting in the engraved front surface.

The larger volume of automatic production of this brilliant decanter bears not only a reduction of unit costs but guarantees greater accuracy, as well.

This job can be defined as yet another highlight in STO’s Prestige Spirits product range.
