Construction work has resumed on the construction of a third furnace at O-I’s Gironcourt plant, France.
Work had been interrupted as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The world’s largest container glassmaker had invested €60 million into the investment. The expansion will see the glassworks produce 2 billion bottles of beer a year.
The factory employs 350 people, 60 of whom have been specially hired and trained as part of this investment.
The third oven will be started in autumn, the date has not yet been set.
