The Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) has announced the appointment of a new Executive Director, following the retirement of Michael Greenman at the end of 2010.

Robert Weisenburger Lipetz is promoted to the position from Assistant Executive Director with effect from 1st January 2011 at the GMIC’s base in Ohio, USA. He will lead the organisation in its key objectives: To facilitate, organise and promote the interests, economic growth and sustainability of the global glass industry through education, research and co-operation in the areas of technology, productivity, innovation and the environment.

Mr Lipetz will also replace Michael Greenman as author of GMIC news in Glass International. His first contribution can be seen in the February issue.
