Joint venture partners Owens-Illinois (O-I), Berli Jucker Public Company (BJC) and Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Company (SABECO) have announced the opening of a glass container manufacturing plant in My Xuan A Industrial Park, Ba Ria Vung Tau province, Vietnam.
The $47 million factory is located 60km to the South East of Ho Chi Minh City, and has an annual production capacity of approximately 75,000 tonnes of returnable premium glass containers for Vietnam’s beer, soft drink, food, wine, spirits and pharmaceutical markets.
The facility will replace the existing plant in District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, with one furnace; three glassmaking lines and two applied ceramic labelling printing lines. It has the capacity to adapt to market trends, extending to four lines, with an annual production capacity of 84,000 tonnes of glass.
