DuPont Apollo has completed its 8.7 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) park in Thailand, in collaboration with Thai conglomerate Loxley.

Located in the country’s Prachin Buri Province, 180 km from the capital Bangkok, the park covers around 344,000m2 and comprises DuPont Apollo’s thin film PV modules.

With construction completed, the company says the plant will be connected to the grid in the fourth quarter of 2011. It is expected to generate 12 million kilowatt (KW) hours of energy annually.

“With our thin-film PV technology uniquely suited for sunbelt countries, we hope the success of this project will act as a catalyst for further PV developments in Thailand,” says David Chu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DuPont Apollo.
