AFGM focuses on 47th ASEAN Glass Conference

The ASEAN Federation of Glass Manufacturers (AFGM) held its annual Council Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam last month.

The event was hosted by The Vietnam Glass Association, VIEGLASS and showcased Saigon’s vibrant street and rich cultural heritage.

The three-day event included Country Chairmen representations from Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Current AFGM Chairman Mr. Jonathan Aquino presided the Council Meeting.

The recent 46^th ASEAN Glass Conference accomplishment in Bali was reviewed as presented by then Conference Chairman Harris Hendraka.

The incoming 47^th ASEAN Glass Conference Organizing Committee Chairman, Mr. Anthony San Mateo, then shared the plans & programme for the glass conference at the Shangri-La, Mactan Resort Cebu, Philippines between September 22-25, 2025 under the theme Shaping Sustainable Solutions for Glass Manufacturing.

The 47^th ASEAN Glass Conference will be hosted by The Glass Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (GMAPI) this year, with the Philippines last hosting in 2019 during the 39^th meeting.

The GMAPI said Mactan in Cebu, boasts stunning white sand beaches and clear turquoise waters. It has a rich history, highlighted by ancient churches and local traditions, which complement the island’s beauty.
