AGC Glass Europe has restarted one of its automotive glass float lines after a two year upgrade programme.
The upgrade was introduced due to a sustained increase in demand for automotive glass.
The updated technology aims to make it one of the most environmentally friendly facilities of its kind, optimising energy efficiency and reducing emissions.
Furthermore, it allows the plant to meet the very strict quality demands of the automotive industry in terms of optical quality, defects and service.
The new line, which will create around 80 jobs, will serve the Central European automotive market and reinforce AGC’s position as a strategic supplier in the region.
First production of glass is expected in the second half of April 2014.
The Teplice plant has 3 float lines: One dedicated to building applications and two for automotive applications.
