The All India Glass Manufacturers' Federation (AIGMF) has issued a call for nominations for its annual glass awards.

The AIGMF will recognise those who have made a tremendous contribution to the Indian glass industry in its annual general meeting in August/September.

The federation will give out two awards: the C K Somany Award for Excellence and the Balkrishna Gupta Award for Exports.

The C K Somany Award for Excellence will be given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the glass industry in the fields of manufacturing, product development, environmental factors, business, performance/growth, research and development, or science/technology.

Previous winners include Mr. P K Kheruka, Former President of AIGMF, in 2025, Mr. Eric L'Heureux, Schott Poonawalla, in 2022, and Mr. Udit Kapoor, Kapoor Glass India, in 2021.

The Balkrishna Gupta Award for Exports will be given to a unit who has contributed towards the identification or growth of new potential markets/volume of exports/reaching number of countries or any other area, and showcased valuable contribution in glass exports.

Previous company winners include Schott Glass India in 2023 and 2025 and Borosil Renewables in 2021.

The jury for this year’s awards comprise:

- Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairman for the Federation of Safety Glass (FOSG) and Managing Director of Gurind India

- Mr. Dave Fordham, Former Publisher of Glass Worldwide, London (UK); Member of the Editorial Board at KANCH and Global Engagement Lead at Glass Futures, St. Helens (UK)

- Mr. Amit Malhotra, President for the Confederation of Construction Products and Services; Treasurer for uPVC Window and Door Manufacturers Association and Managing Director of McCoy Silicones Ltd.

- Mr. Pawan Kumar Shukla, Hon. Treasurer at AIGMF and President / Managing Director for Schott Glass India

AIGMF has invited applications at [email protected] from all those connected with the Indian glass industry who may submit a brief write-up or CV in support of their candidate by 5 August.
