Ardagh’s Pevely, Mo., and Sapulpa, Okla., glass manufacturing facilities in the United States have achieved FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification.

The FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification provides a framework for effectively managing an organisation's food safety responsibilities.

It is fully recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and demonstrates that a company has a robust Food Safety Management System in place.

“FSSC 22000 Certification is a direct reflection of Ardagh Group’s commitment to driving continuous improvement in food safety management systems within our facilities for the safety and well-being of both our customers and consumers,” said Mike Fair, Vice President of Quality for Ardagh Glass, North America.

The Pevely and Sapulpa facilities were required to demonstrate they had effectively implemented a robust food safety management system based on FSSC 22000 requirements, in order to achieve certification.

There are now a total of eight Ardagh glass manufacturing facilities in North America that are FSSC 22000 certified.

In addition to Pevely and Sapulpa, Ardagh Group's Burlington, Wis.; Dunkirk, Ind.; Henderson, N.C.; Lincoln, Ill.; Port Allegany, Pa.; and Ruston, La., facilities are FSSC 22000 Certified.
