Asahi India Glass has reported a marginal increase in consolidated net profit for the first quarter ended 30th June 2011 to Rs 2.79 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 2.78 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal, Asahi India Glass said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Total income during the first quarter this fiscal year went up by 17.81% to Rs 400.41 crore from Rs 339.87 crore in the same period a year ago.
