Italian glass association Assovetro has recognised Mr Antonio Lui for his dedication to glass.
Marco Ravasi, Assovetro president, presented Mr Lui with the 2024 award, which is organised every two years to celebrate a personality who has dedicated his career to the world of glass.
Mr Ravasi said: “The motivation behind this choice underlines that Mr. Antonio Lui has carried out his career within the world of glass, accumulating skills in the production, organisational and scientific fields, also with experiences abroad, in particular in the USA.
“He has held top positions in national glass companies, contributing to the growth of glass and the development of glass collection in Italy, always managing to combine his knowledge and experience with business practice.”
During his career Mr Lui has worked as President of the Hollow Glass Section of Assovetro, Vice President of the Glass Recovery Consortium, President of Stazione Sperimentale del Vetro (SSV), where he concluded his work experience, transforming, among other things, its approach from a semi-public body to a private entity.
Mr Ravasi: “On behalf of the Association and all the companies, a heartfelt recognition to Mr. Antonio Lui for all the work done in the name of glass.”
The prize consisted of a sculpture, commissioned by Assovetro and created by the master of Murano Simone Cenedese on a design of the architect Claudio Marturano.
It refers to the peaks of the Dolomites that were the beautiful setting for the award ceremony 2024.
