BA Glass is to invest €12 million in a furnace improvement at its Leon plant, Spain.

The investment wll take place in the fourth quarter later this year and will be an immediate repair.

It will consist of the renovation of the refractory materials and the incorporation of technological improvements in the moulding machines and the inspection of the containers, in order to extend its life.

The factory employs 250 people. The group is investing €37 million in two phases between 2018 and 2019, to renovate the two existing furnaces in the facilities and introduce technological improvements in the production process.

Upon completion on bothy investments, the site will be equipped with ‘important’ technological improvements in all the processes that make up the production of glass containers.

The factory supplies the wines, sparkling, soft drinks and food segments.
