Baştürk Cam commissions 20.5 MWp solar power plant investment

Turkish glass packaging manufacturer Baştürk Cam has commissioned a 20.5 MWp solar power plant (SPP) at its production facility in Malatya, Türkiye.

Comprising approximately 35,100 solar panels, the installation is expected to generate more than 36 million kWh of electricity a year.

It will contribute to improved operational energy efficiency while reducing dependence on conventional energy sources.

The project is also expected to strengthen Baştürk Cam's low-emission production approach and support the reduction of the company's carbon footprint.

According to company estimates, the environmental impact of the investment is equivalent to planting approximately 19,090 trees each year.

Baştürk Cam believes that the future of manufacturing will be shaped by sustainability, energy efficiency and responsible production.

The solar power plant is part of the company's ongoing investments to support more environmentally responsible and sustainable production processes.

The investment represents a milestone in the company's sustainability strategy by increasing the use of renewable energy in its manufacturing operations and supporting its long-term environmental objectives.

Established as part of the Baştürkler Group, Baştürk Cam manufactures glass packaging solutions for the food, beverage, cosmetics and other industries, serving both domestic and international markets.
