Berlin Packaging acquires Verrerie du Comtat

Verrerie du Comtat will strengthen the packager's position in wine and olive oil markets.

Berlin Packaging will acquire specialist glass packaging supplier Verrerie du Comtat.

Berlin Packaging believes the supplier will strengthen its position in the wine and olive oil markets in France.

Located in Sorgues, France, in the Côtes du Rhône vineyards, Verrerie du Comtat supplies glass bottles, jars, corks and packaging accessories to local wine and food producers, including producers of olive oil.

The company was founded in 1986 by its president, Aline Maroncelli, whose father was a pioneer in the distribution of glass packaging.

Eric Citone, CEO of Berlin Packaging France, said: “We are very happy to welcome Verrerie du Comtat to our group. This new acquisition strengthens our strategic position on the wine and olive oil market, mainly in the Rhône Valley region. We will ensure the continuity of the company's activities with the current team of Verrerie du Comtat and offer new opportunities to customers and suppliers.”
