Bottero group subsidiary E2Pack acquired a business branch of the EMS group in July.

EMS Group, based in Montecchio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia, Italy, is active in the production of end-of-line and packaging systems for the food, drinks, glass and cans sectors.

With this acquisition, announced in July 2024, Bottero’s presence in Italy will increase to four.

It has its main headquarters in Cuneo and is also active in Montecchio Maggiore; Vicenza, and Rovereto; Trento.

The acquisition by Bottero ensures production continuity as well as employment for 60 EMS staff who will transfer to E2Pack.

Bottero, again through its subsidiary E2Pack, has undertaken to hire other EMS employees not included in the company branch where there is a stable increase in the volumes of its activities. This will happen within a year of the transfer date.

Marco Tecchio, CEO of the Bottero Group, said the acquisition would allow it to expand its range of offers in the hollow glass and food & beverage sectors, with the aim to develop smart factory solutions integrated with new AI and machine learning technologies.

"Our goal is to progressively enrich the E2Pack product range to meet the needs of global markets in the cold end and end-of-line systems sector, also in line with the objectives of Industry 5.0 and ESG issues."

E2Pack was formed in 2024 by gathering the experience of previous handling, palletising and packaging companies Emmeti, Mectra, Sipac, Logik and Zecchetti and integrating them into the Bottero group.

Bottero employs 800 people, has an annual turnover of approximately €300 million euros and has machinery in 120 countries.

About 90% of its industrial production is overseas and the value of its exports is 95% of its entire turnover.
