CelSian will host an introductory training course on bubble and seed defects in glass production on 24 - 25 June 2025.

Bubbles, blisters, and seeds are among the most common and costly defects in glass production - yet they remain some of the most difficult to fully understand and resolve.

The course is designed to give participants the tools and insight they need to identify, understand, and reduce these quality issues.

The training will take place over two half-days, from 14:00 to 18:00 (CET).

It is available both online and in-person at CelSian’s training centre in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Participants will explore topics including:

  • Batch decarbonisation and gas release.
  • Bubble formation and growth mechanisms.
  • Gas solubility and refining chemistry.
  • Physical fining, reboil, and the impact of downstream gas sources.
  • Effective responses to bubble upsets in the furnace.

Whether they are a quality engineer, lab technician, process specialist, or furnace operator, participants can expect to move beyond trial-and-error approaches toward a more confident, evidence-based method of managing glass quality.

Cristian Hernández and Johan Lotter, who together bring decades of technical and operational experience, will lead the sessions.
