Video Artificial Intelligence (AI) developer Cerrion has launched its Fire Detection AI technology for the glass industry.
Following its recent $5 million funding round, Cerrion is expanding its suite of video AI and automation solutions for the glass industry with the launch of its Fire Detection AI.
Fire hazards pose a substantial safety challenge in glass manufacturing.
Traditional fire detection systems often struggle to distinguish between flames and hot glass, which is a common part of the production process. This limitation increases the risk of undetected fires.
Cerrion’s AI technology, which is used by glass manufacturers such as Verallia, Stoelzle, Sisecam, and Encirc, continuously monitors production lines in real-time.
The video AI detects issues such as glass jams or fallen containers early, triggering automated responses like alarms or machine section stops. This reduces response times by up to 50%.
With Fire Detection AI, glassmakers can now automate responses based on flame size and duration, which further improves safety.
Karim Saleh, CEO of Cerrion, said: “Video AI is set to be one of the most transformative technologies in the glass industry. It’s non-intrusive, smart enough to differentiate between different types of problems, and Cerrion can implement it in a plug-and-play manner.”
Beyond its reactive capabilities, Cerrion’s platform offers insights through incident analytics and anonymised video streams.
These data-driven tools empower production teams to resolve issues faster and move towards more AI-enabled, efficient operations.
