CGI International, an independent manufacturer of fire safety glazing, has launched a Technical Licensing Programme for the Pyroguard range of fire glass solutions.

The programme is designed to help its UK partners prepare for the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR) which comes into force in 2013.

Under the CPR, CE marking will become mandatory, which means companies currently supplying fire glass products will need to comply with stringent quality control and traceability processes.

In advance of this legislative change, CGI International has developed the Technical Licensing Programme to ensure continuity throughout the supply chain and to provide partners with technical support in this area.

Simon Ellison, Technical Manager for the Pyroguard range of fire glass solutions said: “Come July 2013, anyone supplying or processing fire glass will not have an option – CE marking will have to become part of their operations.

"Recognising that forward planning is the key to a smooth transition with this, the Pyroguard Technical Licensing Programme will essentially introduce all of the processes required for CE compliance, so when the time comes it will simply be a case of changing the stamp that is used.”
