Chile’s Minister of Energy was invited to Vidrala’s headquarters in Llodio, Spain.
Ms Ximena Rincón visited Vidrala as part of her programme of meetings with leading institutions and companies.
The Spanish company operates across Europe, the United Kingdom, and South America, and acquired Chilean glass manufacturer Cristalerías Toro in March this year.
Vidrala Chile, located in Santiago, serves customers in the food and beverage segments.
Ms Rincón met with Vidrala’s CEO, Raúl Gómez, and also discussed the key energy and regulatory challenges facing the glass industry with the company’s management team.
The minister also took a guided tour of Vidrala’s production facilities in Llodio.
During the visit, the company highlighted the need for stable and predictable conditions, security of supply, and adequate infrastructure to strengthen its operations and plan future investments.
