The international exhibition China Glass 2014 has successfully concluded.

The event attracted 815 exhibitors, 185 of whom were from overseas, from 27 countries including China, Italy, Germany, USA, UK, France and Finland.

The four-day event at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre took up 80,000m2 of exhibition space within seven halls. Many large companies participated including Bystronic, Glaston, Lisec and Glassman and there were also German, Italian and US pavilions.

There were about 50 newcomers this year from the USA, Germany, France, the UK, Czech, Malaysia and Estonia, as well as China.

Besides general glass-processing techniques, machines and glass products, people at the exhibition saw a variety of special glass products, up-to-date glass-processing technologies and machines, especially those related to low-carbon economy, energy efficiency, emission reduction, new energy and green materials.

The show attracted more than 23,000 professional visitors from nearly 80 countries, including visiting groups comprising about 400 people from industrial, trading and press sectors of India, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia and South Korea.

Exhibitors said the fair was fruitful and rewarding. Guangdong IVACO received orders from Iran, Turkey, South Korea and Poland. For Guangdong Fushan, seven of its eight RMB3,800,000 ($610,141) worth machines were sold and export orders of about RMB10 million ($1.6 million) and $3 million were clinched.

A number of technical and academic activities were arranged including the International Symposium on Advanced Glass Melting Technology, GPD China 2014, as well as 12 technical seminars, focusing on energy efficiency, low carbon and new technology for recycling material, melting and oxy-fuel combustion technologies.
