Glass customers, manufacturers and technology suppliers are among those to speak at a forthcoming conference focused on sustainable glassmaking.

The Renewable Glass Manufacturing conference will explore potential methods which will allow glass manufacturers to decarbonize the production process.

Glass customers Diageo and Coca-Cola, container glass manufacturers Encirc, Steklarna Hrastnik and Wiegand-Glas, Glass Futures as well as banking group the International Finance Corporation (IFC) are among those to confirm their participation as speakers.

The will be joined by technology supplier companies such as Sorg, Horn, FIC UK, Xpar Vision and CelSian.

The aim is to explore the variety of options available to the glass industry as it attempts to decarbonise in line with the 2050 deadline set by the Paris Agreement in 2050.

The two-day digital conference will take place on November 9 and 10.

Topics covered will be sustainable glass manufacturing such as the use of electric glass manufacturing, hybrid furnaces, biofuels, hydrogen etc,
