French container glass company Saverglass has targeted a date to re-start production.
All its French furnaces will gradually be relaunched on April 14, even if some remain in particle production in the coming weeks.
Its decoration production will also resume on the same date.
The group saw a reduction in its glass and décor production activities at its European sites which was triggered on March 20.
It said the ‘past few weeks ad been challenging in many ways both in our private lives and in our professional activities.’
It took advantage of slowdown to fit out workstations and review its organisations to improve the safety of employees at all its European, Mexican and United Arab Emirates sites.
Its Mexican and Emirates sites currently continue to operate as normally.
Its logistics organisations continue to work normally, including in its local warehouses. It has adapted reception conditions for carriers to improve safety for all.
All its sales and quality teams have been working from home.
It said some product developments may be slowed down due to the disruption but its teams were doing their utmost to minimise the impact.
It said: “We believe that the full commitment of Saverglass employees and close cooperation with all our partners will enable us to overcome this crisis together.”
