Delegates from all around the world attended the recent 14th International Seminar on Furnace Design – Operation and Process Simulation.
Glass Service (GS) said the event, held on 21-22 June 2017 at the Hotel Horal mountain resort in Velke Karlovice, Czech Republic, highlighted the latest developments in furnace optimization.
The event was attended by about 150 glass experts from USA, Japan, China, India, Russia, New Zealand and several European nations including UK.
In conjunction with the Seminar, on 20 June, the ICG Technical Committee 15 & 21 Meeting and the GS Glass Furnace Model (GFM) User Meeting were held.
The seminar highlighted the latest developments in furnace optimization by CFD simulations and advanced control with contributions from Johns Manville, Owens Corning, Corning, Sisecam, AGC, Verallia and several others. It introduced what Industry 4.0 would bring to further the glass melting process.
The event takes place every two years and brings together 150+ glass experts to discuss the use of simulation & control tools, with the goal of optimising the glass melting and forming process.
