DGG-USTV conference cancelled

The USTV-DGG confernce was to have included a trip to nearby Amboise royal castle.

A glass technology conference organised by colleague in France and Germany has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

The USTV-DGG conference was due to take place in Orleans, France between June 15-19. It is a collaboration between the French Union for Science and Glass Technology (USTV) and the German Society of Glass Technology (DGG).

Daniel Neuvile, President of the USTV, said: “As a result of the ongoing uncertainties around the coronavirus pandemic, especially with respect to travel and social gatherings, we have made the rather difficult decision to cancel the 2020 DGG-USTV meeting.

“For some practical reason, it is not possible to postpone the meeting at the end of this year or next year.

"We would like to thank all of you for having either submitted abstracts or planned to come and attend this conference. We are sure that we will meet in other scientific meetings.”
