John Sawtell, a former sales manager for UK supplier DSF Refractories & Minerals, passed away after a long battle with cancer on 19th January 2012.
Born in 1933, Mr Sawtell “was in the vanguard of DSF refractory sales to the glass industry at a time when steel dominated” according to the company. “He was a mentor to many,” it added.
Mr Sawtell leaves behind his wife, four children and seven grandchildren.
