UK glassmaker Encirc has begun a consultation with staff over a restructuring process.

The container glass manufacturer and packager employs 2000 people at sites in Elton, Derrylin and Bristol, UK.

It blamed challenging market conditions for the decision.

Mark Conway, Encirc's Communications & PR Manager, said: “While we are well placed in our sector, like all manufacturers we are navigating some very challenging UK market conditions.

“As such, to meet these challenges, we are currently undertaking a restructuring programme.

“We will run a thorough consultation process with all employees impacted, as well-as trade union and employee representatives.”
