Encirc receives first biofuel delivery ahead of 2021 trial

Encirc will use the biofuel to look at and alternative fuel source for its glass manufacturing.

Container glass manufacturer Encirc has had its first biofuel delivery for a trial scheduled for the first quarter of 2021.

The renewable and more sustainable fuel source will be used to power one of the Derrylin, Northern Ireland furnaces.

Formed in partnership with Glass Futures Ltd and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Energy Innovation Programme, Encirc hope the trial will help to pave the way for an industry-wide reduction in carbon emissions.
