Fives was entrusted by Heinz-Glas to install an all-electric furnace at its Piesau manufacturing plant in Germany.
Heinz-Glas wanted to replace its old gas furnace with Fives’ all-electric melting technology to produce luxury cosmetic bottles for the glass packaging industry.
To address this need, Fives installed its Prium E-Melt technology, which offers reduced emissions and increased energy efficiency to decarbonise glass production.
The furnace installation was part of Heinz-Glas’ commitment to create a more sustainable industry and reduce CO2 emissions on site.
Since becoming operational at the end of 2024, the furnace can produce 70 tpd, setting a standard for production and sustainability.
