Decarbonisation was the theme at last week's Furnace Solutions conference organised by the UK's Society of Glass Technology (SGT).
A total of 17 speakers from the UK and Europe discussed various processes which would enable green glass making at the conference on Wednesday and Thursday.
Speakers included technology providers such as SEFPRO, Fives, Sorg, Glass Service Italy, DSF Refractories, glass manufacturers as well as personal care company L'Oreal.
The event in St Helens, UK also included a tour of the Glass Futures research and development complex next door.
Visitors included manufacturers from AGC Glass Europe, Saint-Gobain, Pilkington and Sina Medical Glass from St Helens, UK.
