Furnotherm has completed a float glass furnace project for Sisecam in record time.

The Indian furnace engineering company was tasked with rebuilding Sisecam Flat Glass India’s 600 TPD Float Glass Furnace at its Halol, Gujarat, facility.

The challenge was to demolish the entire furnace of 8800 MT Refractories and the reinstallation of the refractories within 105 days, out of which 20 days were for demolition and 85 days were for reinstallation.

The work involved steel modifications and construction, dismantling of old equipment and the reinstallation along with installation of some new equipment.

Furnotherm said: “We are proud to inform you that, against all obstacles and challenges, Team Furnotherm has been able to accomplish this prestigious project in less than three months! It is a record in the history of Float Glass Furnace Reconstruction.

“We had been officially handed over the furnace in June 2023 for demolition. After demolishing the old, the refractory installation was completed in the last week of August 2023.”

Furnotherm said it conveyed its sincere thanks to the Sisecam team for all its support and cooperation and also thanked all other project stakeholders.

Furnotherm has completed projects both domestically and overseas on container, float and borosilicate glass furnaces.
