German control system specialist futronic has signed a licence agreement to maintain and repair all Glasproduktions-Service (GPS) machines.

GPS of Essen, Germany went bankrupt last year and was eventually wound up.

Numerous glass manufacturers around the world who produce on the machinery and component supplier’s IS machines were faced with a problem: who would handle maintenance and repair of their equipment in the future?

futronic has now signed a licence agreement with GPS’s previous owner which means the Tettnang-based, company can in future access all maintenance levels of GPS machines.

The agreement comprises comprehensive support for the electrical part of the equipment, as well as maintenance and the procurement of spare parts.

This also applies to machines which are not yet equipped with controls and drives from futronic.

This customised service package is offered by futronic to all former GPS customers.

“The framework agreement means we work very closely with the production departments and we’re reliably informed at all times”, said Murat Yolaçan, who is in charge of the project at futronic.

“We have the know-how and the experience to guarantee trouble-free operation of all GPS machines.”
