German-headquartered manufacturer Gerresheimer reported a drop in revenue from its glass business of 7.2% compared to the year before.
It said the decrease in revenues was due to a drop in demand in its pharma business as a result of customer inventory effects.
Its first quarter 2024 revenue was €208.4 million compared to €227.5 million in the same quarter in 2023.
Revenues in its glass cosmetics business climbed once again in the first quarter of 2024 in the wake of solid performance in the prior year.
In its Primary Packaging Glass Division, it said capital expenditure spend was mainly on preparation methods for the construction of a new furnace at its Lohr, Germany site and capacity expansions for injection vials in Morganton, NC, USA.
