Glass manufacturer Gerresheimer sees medium and long-term growth opportunities in the pharmaceutical business as a result of the corona pandemic.
"We are prepared for the high demand for injection vials for the upcoming vaccination campaigns and are further expanding our capacities," said CEO Dietmar Siemssen when presenting the quarterly results.
Gerresheimer generated sales of €363 million in the second quarter (as of May 31, 2020), an increase of 4.6% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Temporarily reduced demand for high-quality perfume flacons has been more than offset by increased demand for drug packaging and drug delivery devices, it added.
