Glass Futures has released a video on the progress of its Global Centre of Excellence in St Helens, UK, as its furnace nears completion.

In the video, Aston Fuller, General Manager at Glass Futures, takes the viewer on a tour of the manufacturing facility.

He reveals Glass Futures has nearly completed the refractory build for its furnace and forehearth at the site.

Chapman Brack installed the furnace refractories over the course of three weeks, which are now almost complete.

Also in development is a modern control room for the PCS Neo digital control system, which will manage all the plant’s operations.

The site will have the capacity to produce 30 tonnes of glass per day when fully operational.

In addition, Mr Fuller said Glass Futures was preparing for the final installation of the flooring.

This is in advance of receiving a lehr from Grenzebach in a “few weeks’ time”.

See the video below for more details, which is also available via Glass Future’s YouTube channel.
