The annual charity golf day, organised by Ian Robertson of Parkinson Spencer Refractories and his brother Duncan, was once again held in September 2011 at The Mid Yorkshire Golf Club, Darrington, UK and raised £2000 for local charities.

The event, now in its 17th year and supported by local companies, resulted in 16 teams taking part. The glass industry, which has always supported the event, was once again well represented by Ardagh Glass, Allied Glass Containers, Stolzle Flaconnage, as well as suppliers to the industry Gillian & Baines, Graphoidal Developments, Pennine Industrial and Sheppee International.

The winning team this year was Stolzle Flaconnage, with a Graphoidal Developments team taking the runner’s up spot.

Glass International was proud once again to be associated with the event and sponsored the trophies, which were supplied by Georgian Crystal of Tutbury, UK.
