The 4th Glassberries Design Awards, organised by BA Glass, will this year ask young designers to develop a range of jars for the food industry.
This year the strategic partnership with Corticeira Amorim, the largest manufacturers of cork products in the world, will allow for a special Honorable Mention for the best use of cork.
Through the Glassberries Design Awards, BA Glass will reward the most creative proposals, judged by a renowned jury including Antonio Lacerda, President of AND (the National Association of Designers) and the heads of BA Glass and Corticeira Amorim, among others.
Universities in Spain and Poland have been invited to join those in Portugal in this creative challenge of creating a new range of jars for the food industry.
BA Glass invited the Universidade LusÃada de Lisboa, Universidade da Beira Interior, ESAD in Matosinhos, EINA - Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art (Spain), IED Madrid (Spain), Academy of Fine Arts Warsaw (Poland), Academy of Fine Arts Poznan (Poland), and Academy of Fine Arts of Krakow (Poland).
The students from the design course of these institutions will receive a briefing from the BA Glass Marketing team, supported by the team at Corticeira Amorim, to understand how to design and produce glass packaging.
Proposals must be submitted by May 18, 2015 and the winners will be announced in June this year in a public ceremony, as with previous editions.
