Groupe Pochet outlines the progress of its electric glass furnace at its plant in Guimerville, France.
As part of its decarbonisation strategy, Groupe Pochet’s Guimerville plant will soon be home to an electric furnace.
The group recently revealed two milestones in the furnace’s development.
On June 27, the casting of the old gas furnace took place.
This consisted of emptying the entire gas furnace of molten glass before its demolition.
The demolition and asbestos removal work on the furnace began on July 3, and was completed by July 20.
Groupe Pochet said: “This project marks a crucial step towards the installation of our new electric furnace, the first in France dedicated to luxury bottles.
“This furnace will contribute significantly to the reduction of our CO2 emissions and our commitment to a sustainable future. We would like to thank all the teams involved for their work and dedication.”
