The organiser of the Year of Glass 2022 is calling for industry support.
The approval process requires a formal application to the United Nations and one is currently being prepared.
As part of this as many Letters of Endorsement as possible are required which support a bid for a Year of Glass and from as wide a geographical area as possible.
These can be from Museums, Universities, Research Institutes, Government laboratories, Glass Societies and so on.
If you feel able to submit such a document or know someone else who can please register your interest.
The organiser of the bid said it was keen to extend the range of countries represented in its letters of endorsement.
“So even if your country does not have a major glass industry there are probably several smaller organizations making or using glassy materials and their input would strengthen our case,” said the organiser.
