The future of French glassworks Holophane should be decided this week.

A commercial court is due to discuss the Andelys, Normandy, France-based glassworks at a hearing in Evreux, France on Thursday (November 2)

Crystal glass manufacturer Waltersperger has submitted a letter of intent stipulating its interest in acquiring the Andelys, Normandy, France-based glassworks and has requested an extra month to consider the details.

The court will decide if to grant the extra month, or to close the glass manufacturing site.

Holophane was placed in bankruptcy late last year due to a rise in energy prices and the impact of the pandemic.

The company, which makes automotive headlights was due to celebrate its 100th anniversary this month.
