Horn has supplied an oxy-hybrid furnace to Gerresheimer’s glass plant in Lohr am Main, Germany.

The furnace is equipped with Horn oxyfuel technology in conjunction with the company's e-Fusion Power Boosting as hybrid technology.

It reduces CO2e emissions by up to 40% compared to a furnace with conventional technology.

It also has a higher capacity and can operate with up to 50% electricity.

In addition, it features modern production technologies with environmentally friendly cooling.

Horn upgraded one of the two furnaces at the site within four months, starting in January 2025.

The company supervised and managed the installation and commissioning.

As scheduled, the glass flow took place on May 4th, 2025.

Horn would like to thank Gerresheimer for their co-operation and the trust they placed in them, and wishes them a successful furnace campaign.
