The United Nations backed International Year of Glass (IYOG) seeks sponsors for its Opening Ceremony event in Geneva, Switzerland next year.

From the 9-11th February 2022, IYOG will host its Opening Ceremony in the Palace of Nations.

It will showcase a variety of internationally recognised speakers and be attended by political figures and noteworthy members of the glass community.

The proceedings will also be live streamed and recorded for those unable to attend in person.

IYOG aims to showcase the technological, scientific and economic importance of glass. Its original campaign was supported by approx. 2000 letters from 85 countries, which led the United Nations to formally agree to endorse 2022 as the International Year of Glass this May.

In addition to the Opening Ceremony, a multitude of events such as trade fairs, conferences and exhibitions have been planned, as well as a book highlighting IYOG’s aspirations to put glass at the forefront of UN 2030 Humanitarian Goals.
