Iran produced 167,000 tons of glass in the first two months of the current Iranian year (started 21st March).
This figure indicates a 3.7% growth compared with the corresponding figure of last year, which was 161,000 tons.
In this period, production of glassware, sanitary products and chinaware amounted to 70,600 tons, 12,700 tons and 6,700 tons, respectively.
During 21st April – 21st May, glass production reached 89,000 tons. In the same period, the production of glassware, sanitary products and Chinaware amounted to 36,600 tons, 6,300 tons and 3,500 tons, respectively.
In April 2013, a report released by IRNA said 1.01 million tons of glass was produced last year.
