A book celebrating the creation of the International Year of Glass (IYOG) is now available to read online.

The 230-page book, titled ‘Welcome to the Glass Age’, examines how the International Year of Glass came to be as well as the history of glass and its future applications.

The book investigates the people behind the initial concept of IYOG and the application process, as well as the political steps and value of contacts within the United Nations.

There are 13 chapters written by 18 glass pioneers and leaders, which delve into industry topics that align with UN aspirations. These include: healthcare, education, clean energy, sustainable glass production and carbon reduction, as well as gender equality and diversity in the glass world.
